About the Author
George Geary is an award-winning chef, best-selling author, and renowned educator. A former pastry chef for the Walt Disney Company, Geary is a Certified Culinary Professional, and was recently chosen as the Culinary Educator of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals. He is perhaps best known for creating all of the cheesecakes for The Golden Girls and other top-rated television programs. Geary has worked as a critic and/or judge for ABC’s The Taste with Anthony Bourdain, The American Baking Competition with Jeff Foxworthy, Hell's Kitchen, Supermarket Superstar, and many other popular television shows. He also teaches cooking classes aboard Holland America Lines.For over thirty years, Geary has been a culinary contest judge for major food manufacturers such as Canola Producers, Veg-All, Hormel Foods, the Hershey Company, Knott’s Berry Farm Foods, Ghirardelli Chocolate, Fleischmann’s Yeast, the San Diego Union Tribune, ABC News, and many more. From 1982 to 2010, George was the culinary coordinator of the Los Angeles County Fair.Geary is the author of L.A.’s Legendary Restaurants, as well as nine cookbooks including The Cheesecake Bible, The Complete Baking Cookbook, and 125 Best Cheesecake Recipes. He is presently the featured chef on the San Diego Living television show on the CW Network. Geary lives in Los Angeles.

Oh, this is awesome!If you're on a diet, you need to stay away. Far, far away! And, really, stay away from my house because we have been having so much fun cooking this stuff!The resident nine-year-old and I spent much of this weekend cooking goodies from this book. There are wonderful pictures, easy to follow recipes, great little tips, and so much delicious, high calorie, seriously bad for you food!We made the monte cristo squares, fried Coca Cola (yes, we did!), shakes, and fried guacamole. And we're going to be making so much more.The book includes adult beverages, as well as kid friendly ones, fried everything, and even a recipe for those giant Turkey legs.We can't keep doing this every weekend - I'll need to buy bigger clothes - but when you need a treat, these fun and easy to follow recipes are terrific!
The recipes are very easy to follow and have very clear instructions. These foods are definitely not diet foods, but who is dieting at a fair, you are looking for yummy, indulgent show stoppers and this is just what you get! I love this cook book so much. The Triple Chocolate Brownies are like no other brownie I have ever had never mind made! They are amazing! So many great things in this book, such a great idea and collection of deliciousness!
Love it! The book doesn't claim to be a diet book. However, for an occasional treat, it is so much fun.
